Gas Analyzer Functions and How to Use It

Gas Analyzer Functions and How to Use It - A gas analyzer is a tool used to measure the density and composition of vehicle exhaust gases released into the air. Diagnose the AFR status of the car so that it can provide a function to prevent air pollution.

In this tool there are 6 LED indicators that are used to monitor the condition of vehicle exhaust gas levels.

The following is a display on the front of the QROTECH gas analyzer

Gas analyzer can measure: CO, CO2, O2, HC, NOx, AFR, Lambda

On the front displays the readings of:

  • CO (%): Carbon Monoxide
  • CO2 (%): Carbon Dioxide
  • Lambda : The ratio of empirical AFR versus theoretical
  • HC (ppm): Hydrocarbon
  • O2 (%): Oxygen
  • AFR : The ratio of the mixture of fuel and air
  • NOx : Nitrogen Oxide

Qrotech Gas Analyzer Measurement Range (Product Specification):

  • CO (%) : 0.0 - 10.0%
  • CO2 (%) : 0.0 - 20.0%
  • Lambda : 0.0 - 2.0
  • HC (ppm): 0 - 9999 ppm
  • O2 (%) : 0.0 - 25.0 %
  • AFR : 0.0 - 99.0 %
  • NOx : 0 - 5000 ppm
  • Detection Method
  • CO, CO2 and HC detection method (NDIR Method)
  • O2 and Nox detection method (Electrochemical Method)

Conditions of Use:

  • Do not use in a polluted environment
  • Not exposed to direct sunlight
  • The place must be well ventilated
  • Must be installed at least 25 cm from ground level

Here is how to use the QROTECH Gas Analyzer

1. Read the procedure listed on the body gas analyzer

2. Plug the plug into an AC power source (PLN Electricity)

3. Press the ON switch on the gas analyzer located on the rear body

4. After that the Gas Analyzer display will light up and switch to stand-by mode

5. Then the gas analyzer will automatically count down

6. Wait until the numbers on the AFR display show zero (0)

7. Then press the ZERO button for (Zero Calibration), and the AFR display will show the countdown number

When Zero Calibration place the probe in free air

8. After Zero Calibration is complete, insert the probe into the exhaust of the vehicle to be tested for the content of exhaust emissions. (Vehicle in engine running condition and step on the gas pedal until the engine rpm shows 2000 rpm)

9. Then press ENT/MEAS

10. Wait until the numbers listed on the display are stable

11. Once stable, press HOLD 2 times, then enter the vehicle code/number

12. Press the up arrow to increase the number and the down arrow to move to the next position.

13. When finished then press HOLD 1 time, to print the results of detection of exhaust emission levels.

14. After that press ZERO/STDBY, then press ZERO 1 time to clear the initial history.

That's how to use a gas analyzer. May be useful.
